In the immediate wake of the inauguration of the new president, rs21 is hosting a major public meeting to discuss the issues facing activists in the US and around the world in the new era. The election of Biden brings an end to the Trump era, but opens a new presidency dominated by corporate interests, and committed to further US imperialism around the world. In order to launch a discussion on these issues, we have a panel of exciting speakers.
Sumaya Awad is a Palestinian-American activist, Director of Strategy & Communications for the Adala Justice Project, and author of Palestine: A Socialist Introduction. She will discuss the prospects for fighting racism and colonialism in the US today, and the importance of the Palestinian struggle in that context.
Ashley Smith is the Managing Editor of Spectre magazine and a member of the Democratic Socialists of America in Vermont. He will discuss US imperialist strategy under Biden, and how his administration will deal with rivals such as China and Iran.
Charlie Post is a revolutionary socialist based at City University of New York, and he will speak on the prospects for struggle in the US and on Biden’s likely agenda at home.
Do join us for what promises to be an inspiring and lively evening of discussion.
