Rosa Luxemburg 100 Years On
29 October at 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
101 years ago, the Marxist theorist and leader Rosa Luxemburg was murdered by the German state, led at the time by social democrats. In her lifetime, she made a huge contribution to the development of Marxist ideas and a tradition that continues to live on today. A one time critic and collaborator of Lenin and the Bolsheviks, she developed important ideas around reform and revolution, imperialism, and the mass strike.
In this Zoom event celebrating her life and work, East London rs21 will take a critical look at her ideas and how we can apply them to the world of today. Joining us will be Hazel Croft to give an introduction to Luxemburg’s work. There will then be plenty of time for what should be a lively discussion. Do join us on the night.
For those unfamiliar with Rosa Luxemburg’s work, we would suggest looking over the Rosa Luxemburg archive at Marxists.org: https://www.marxists.org/archive/luxemburg/index.htm. This contains a comprehensive body of her key works.
