Revolution or climate catastrophe?

8 October 2019 at 6:00 pm8:00 pm

Every day brings new climate calamities. Millions are already suffering from pollution and climate change, biodiversity is declining and we face the risk of cascading ‘tipping points’ and rapid irreversible warming.

The ecological catastrophe is inseparable from capitalism, its relentless drive for profit, border regimes and imperialist wars. The problem is political, not simply technological.

The change we need is revolutionary. But what sort of revolution? Could there be a revolution in Britain? Wouldn’t it need to be global? Is human nature a barrier? Would it mean violence? Is there time?

Come and join the discussion, introduced by Lou Hayton.

All welcome!
