The event

For forty years, capital has been attacking not just workers’ organisation but the means of social reproduction of the working class.

Housing is ever more expensive, more stratified by class and race. The content of education in schools has been diminished by testing and a narrow vision of preparing children for a future of work.

Individuals are expected to market themselves through social media, online dating and personal branding. Employment, housing and care have become sources of debt.

Yet the last few years have also seen new forms of struggle; the international women’s strike; protests by teachers in the US and lecturers in Britain pointing beyond the neoliberal takeover of all of our lives.

“Marxism and the revenge of everyday life” is a one day conference that will bring together anti-capitalists from a range of revolutionary perspectives to discuss how capital is changing the world around us, and how to fight back.
