Pete C, of International Socialism Scotland, gave a talk on the progression of the Scottish pro-independence movement, and the opportunities for radical socialists to build a left-wing pole within it.
British nationalism and the global populist right
Anindya Bhattacharyya spoke about the right-wing populist project of Johnson’s Conservative Party, and how it relates to the global array of hard-right forces including the presidencies of Donald Trump in the US and Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil.
Border imperialism and migrant solidarity
Ida Picard, a member of East London rs21 and Lesbians and Gays Support the Migrants, spoke about border control as a aspect of British imperialism and state control of the working class.
